Okendo Quizzes includes a built-in test mode so you can validate your quiz configuration before it goes live. Use it to confirm that questions, answers, and recommendations are working as intended.
In this article, you will learn about;
Testing questions, answers, and recommendations
Navigate to Quizzes > Quiz List, click the 3 dots next to an existing quiz, and then Edit.
Click the Test tab. The questions configured for the quiz display along with dropdown menus containing answer options for each one.
Select an answer for each question to simulate a quiz taker's experience.
After selecting answers for each question, scroll down to the Recommendations section. The products that score points based on their associated tags display here.
Recommended products appear with a purple pill showing their point total. Runner-up recommendations appear next with a gray pill. Products that are not recommended appear at the bottom of the list and are grayed out.
Expand each product panel to see which questions and tags contributed to the product's points total. For example, the answer to question 5 assigned 1 point each to the Aging Skin and Tired Skin tags. Because the Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream product is associated with both tags, it received 2 points.
A preview of the recommendations is shown beside the testing form.
💡 Only products scoring at least 1 point appear in Test mode, as these are the only products eligible to be recommended. Other products associated with tags in the quiz are filtered out.
Identifying changes and publishing the quiz
After trying various answer combinations, you may spot issues with your setup, such as:
An incorrect allocation of points assigned to product tags, causing unexpected recommendations for certain answer combinations.
Points not triggering the expected recommended products for specific answer combinations.
Products being recommended despite being intended for exclusion based on negative points.
Switch back to the Build tab and make the required changes to the weightings. Run through the test steps again to confirm the recommendations display correctly.
When you're happy with the results, publish the quiz to your store.
