Okendo Quizzes has an in-built test mode to help validate a quiz configuration. Test whether questions, answers and recommendations have been set up correctly before publishing a quiz on-site.

In this article, you'll learn how to:

Test questions, answers and recommendations

  1. Navigate to Quizzes > Quiz List, click the 3 dots next to an existing quiz and then Edit.

  2. Click on the Test tab. The questions that have been set up for the quiz will be displayed along with dropdown menus containing answer options for each one.

  3. Select an answer for each question to simulate the experience of a quiz taker.

  4. After you have selected answers for each question, scroll down to the Recommendations section. The recommendation pages that have been set up for the quiz will be displayed.

  5. The recommendation pages which have a match to the answers selected will be outlined in green and marked with a tick. Any recommendations which do not match will be outlined in gray and marked with a gray dash.

  6. Click on each of the recommendations to view the conditions that were set for them. Smaller green ticks indicate which conditions matched to the answers selected while smaller gray dashes signify conditions that did not match.

  7. If more than one of the recommendations is a match, the recommendation that will display to a visitor will be marked with a green tick. The other matching recommendations will be marked with a gray tick instead. The recommendation that displays will be the one that is set as the highest priority within the Build tab.

  8. A preview of the recommendation page can be viewed next to the testing form.

Identify changes required and publish the quiz

Having tried various answers to the quiz, you may identify issues with the set up such as:

  • Recommendation pages displaying for the wrong combination of answers

  • Recommendation pages not displaying for an expected combination of answers

  • Products displaying on pages when they should have been excluded for an answer

Switch back to the Build tab and make the required changes to the recommendation conditions. Follow the testing steps again to ensure the recommendations display correctly.

Publish the quiz on-site once you are satisfied with the test results.
