Get deeper insight into what your customers think with Signals

Use Signals to analyze attribute feedback from reviews, benchmark product performance, and identify areas for improvement.

Written by Chris MaGill

Signals Reporting gives you powerful insights into the additional feedback your customers provide when leaving reviews. Transform this feedback into actionable insights: spot trends, benchmark products, and identify areas for improvement.

Signals includes two views: Trend and Spotlight.

⚠️ Signals data is collected via attributes, if you haven't set any attributes up in your account please follow this help center guide to start capturing additional feedback from your customers.

In this article, you will learn about;

Trend tab

The Trend tab provides a high-level overview of how specific attributes are performing across multiple products or product groups. It's ideal if you want a snapshot of performance, or if you want to compare results at scale.

How it works

  • Select up to 15 products or product groups to analyze.

  • Choose the attribute you'd like to track (e.g. Fit or Comfort).

  • View results across time periods: Last 30 days, Last 90 days, Past Year, or All Time.

Line chart

A line chart plots the average score for the selected attribute over the chosen time frame. Each product or product group appears as its own line, making it easy to compare performance.

Products table

The products table shows high-level information for the products or product groups selected.

  • Product / Group name

  • Current attribute score

  • Score change vs. previous matching period (positive or negative)

  • Number of reviews captured in the time period

  • Average review rating

If a row represents a product group, you can expand it to reveal performance for each product in that group.

💡 Use Trend reporting to benchmark similar products, monitor changes in attribute performance, and spot early signals of shifts in customer sentiment.

Spotlight tab

The Spotlight tab provides a deep dive into the attributes associated with a single product or group of products. Where Trend gives you comparisons, Spotlight gives you detail.

How it works

  • Select a product or product group.

  • Select the attributes you want to analyze (up to 15).

  • Filter results by time period: Last 30 days, Last 90 days, Past Year, or All Time.

Overview stats

At the top of the page, Spotlight displays key high-level stats:

  • Review count (total reviews for the selected product or group in the time period)

  • Overall sentiment (positive, neutral, negative)

Charts and visualizations

For each attribute selected, Spotlight generates its own chart. Visualization types vary based on the data, including:

  • Donut charts

  • Stacked bar charts

  • Range charts

  • Line charts

  • Aggregates and over-time views

This flexibility lets you interpret both categorical and scaled attributes in the most meaningful way.

Next steps

Together, Trend and Spotlight provide both the breadth and depth of insights from your review attributes. Use them to:

  • Track product performance over time

  • Benchmark across products or groups

  • Drill into specific attributes for a single product

  • Share insights with product and marketing teams

FAQs

Setup and eligibility

Do I need to be using attributes already?

Yes. Signals works with data collected through your existing attribute setup. If you haven't configured attributes yet, you'll need to set those up first — data will start flowing into the reports once attributes are in place.

Which attribute types are supported?

All core attribute types are supported: Range, Centre Range, Single Select, Multi Select, and Location. Date attributes are not currently supported.

Does it work with grouped products?

Yes. You can view attribute data at the individual product level or aggregated across a product group, giving you flexibility depending on how your catalog is structured.

Data and accuracy

How far back does the data go?

Signals includes all attribute data collected since you set up attributes in Okendo — there's no cut-off date.

What happens if I've changed or deleted an attribute?

Attribute responses are saved at the time of review submission, so historical data remains available even if an attribute has since been changed or removed. Any data captured within your selected time period will still appear in your reports.

Using the reports

What's the difference between the Trend tab and the Spotlight tab?

The Trend tab gives you a time-series view — track how one attribute performs across multiple products over time, with trend indicators and product-level breakdowns. The Spotlight tab is a dashboard view for a single product or group, where you choose which attribute widgets to display across a range of chart types.

Can I export the data?

Not currently.

Can I track customer profile attributes like age, gender, or location?

Yes. Profile attributes are available on the Spotlight tab.
