There may be instances where you want to allow a shipping discount and an order discount to be used on the same purchase. Rather than manually provisioning each discount, Okendo allows you to configure discounts to combine automatically.

What are Shopify discounts?
Shopify discounts allow you to offer customers price reductions or special offers, aiming to boost sales and customer loyalty. These discounts can be applied in various forms, such as discount codes entered by customers at checkout or automatic discounts that apply when specific conditions are met. In Okendo, you can create discounts through the coupon and reward mechanisms within the various products, allowing you to reward customers for actions taken or for repeated loyalty to your brand.

How Shopify discount combinations work
Shopify classifies discounts by discount type. These include order, product and shipping discounts.
Shopify only allows certain discount types to be combined on purchases. When a discount is created, an additional setting must also be enabled for it to combine with others successfully. For discounts to combine on a purchase:
Shopify must permit the underlying discounts types to combine; and
An additional setting to combine is enabled per discount generated.

Managing discount combinations in Okendo
Okendo allows you to configure coupon combinations across Reviews, Loyalty, Quizzes, and Referrals. Combination controls are located within the rewards settings for each product.
Reviews

In your admin panel, go to Reviews > Rewards.
Click "Edit" next to the coupon you wish to update.
Select the different discount types to combine and click Confirm.
Click Save on the Rewards screen to complete the update.
Loyalty

In your admin panel, go to Loyalty > Settings > General and to the Discounts section.
Select the different discount types to combine and click Save.
Quizzes

⚠️ Rewards and coupon combinations are controlled on a per-quiz basis.
Go to the quiz you want to update and, from the Actions menu, select Edit.
Click the Configure tab and go to the Rewards menu.
Select the different discount types to combine and click Save.

In your admin panel, go to Referrals > Settings > Rewards
Select the different discount types to combine and click Save.
Surveys
Surveys
Rewards settings are configured at a channel/survey level. Once a survey has been created and added to a channel, edit a specific channel/survey.
Expand the Rewards section and ensure the coupon reward-type is selected.
Scroll to the bottom of the section, select the different discount types to combine and click Save.
Combining Okendo and Shopify discounts
Combination discounts generated from Okendo may be combined with discounts directly generated from Shopify.
For example a $10 off select products discount (redeemed via Okendo) and a 20% off storewide sales promotion (created directly in Shopify).
You can check whether a discount can be combined with others (either from Okendo or Shopify), by going into Shopify Admin > Discounts, selecting the discount and looking under the Combinations section.
Troubleshooting discount combinations
Some accounts may require additional permissions to be enabled in Shopify. This will be indicated in both your admin panel and in Shopify.
