Merchants may allow discounts (coupons) to be combined on purchases. For example, a merchant may want to allow a shipping discount and an order discount, to be used on the same purchase. Rather than manually provisioning each discount, Okendo Loyalty now provides a new feature, that automatically enables discounts originating from it, to combine.

How discount combinations work
When an enrolled member redeems a discount reward, Okendo Loyalty uses Shopify to create the discount itself. Shopify classifies discounts, by discount type. These include order, product and shipping discounts. Okendo Loyalty can generate all three types, depending on how rewards are configured.
Shopify only allows certain discount types to be combined on purchases. And when a discount is created, an additional setting must also be enabled, in order for it to successfully combine with others. In summary, for discounts to combine on a purchase:
Shopify must permit the underlying discounts types to combine; and
An additional setting to combine is enabled, per discount generated.
Okendo Loyalty now includes a new feature that will automatically enable the setting to combine, on any discounts originating from it.

Enabling discount combinations in Okendo Loyalty
To automatically enable discounts originating from Okendo Loyalty, to combine:
Go to Okendo Admin > Loyalty > Settings and to the Discounts section
Select the different discount types to combine
Select Save
⚠️ NOTE
To enable all Okendo Loyalty discounts to be combined on purchases, select all checkboxes in this feature.
Combining discounts from Okendo Loyalty with those directly generated in Shopify
Enabling this feature may also allow Okendo Loyalty discounts to be combined with discounts directly generated from Shopify. For example a $10 off select products discount (redeemed via Okendo Loyalty) and a 20% off storewide sales promotion (created directly in Shopify).
Merchants can check whether a discount can be combined with others (either from Okendo Loyalty or Shopify), by going into Shopify Admin > Discounts, selecting the discount and looking under the Combinations section.
