Gain further insights about your customer by asking more detailed and personalized questions during the review process. Profile questions are similar to customer attributes where they allow you to gather what you want to know about your customers. You can ask your customers specific questions using Okendo's library of default profile questions or you can create your own custom profile questions.

You must configure the profile questions before you can embed them in your review process. Answers will appear on the customer's profile page, which you can then use to segment your data to create highly targeted marketing campaigns.

In this article, you'll learn about:

Types of profile questions

You can find these question types under the Base Questions section or used throughout the library of default profile questions.

Question Type

What it does

Multi Value

Allows your customer to select multiple answers.

Single Value

Allows your customers to select only one answer.

Date

Asks your customers to share a relevant date such as a birthday or anniversary. You can choose to ask for this data in a variety of formats (month, day, or year).

Note: To maintain your customer's privacy, this data won't appear in your reviews widgets.

Location

Asks your customer to provide their location by asking for country and zone or just the country.

Elements of a profile question

Whether you create a custom profile question or add a default one from the library, each question may include some of these elements (depending on the type of question):

Profile question element

Description

Question

This text is what the customer sees in the review capture form. You can modify this text.

Property profile name

Use this field to add a descriptor that will represent the question in the customer's profile.

Options

Responses to your questions that your customer can select.

Ask For

Determine the format that you want for your customer's response. This drop-down list appears for the Date and Location question types.

Don't ask again for

Allows you to determine how often the customer will be asked this question.
For example, if you already have the customer's birthday, you don't need to ask again. However, for a question about hair color, you may want to ask that question again at a later time.

Configure profile questions to include in review submissions

After you add these questions, go to Reviews > Attributes and click the + Add Attribute Collection button to start adding your profile questions to the review capture form.

  1. Open your Okendo app.

  2. Go to Profiles > Profile Questions from the sidebar.

  3. Select a category within the library and click ▾ to expand it.

  4. Click a question.

  5. (Optional) Modify the question's settings. You can:

    • Change the text of the question itself or the options.

    • Add or delete options or configure them to appear in a drop-down list.

    • Change the format of the response in the Ask For field.

    • Determine how often you ask this question in the Don't ask again for field.

  6. Click Add.

Create custom questions

Select a question type under the Base Questions section to create custom questions with custom answers.

  1. Select a question type.

  2. Type your question in the Choose options below field.

  3. Depending on the question type you select, do the following:

    • Multi Value or Single Value: Add your options and determine how often you want to ask this question.

    • Date or Location: Configure the Ask For and Don't ask again for fields.

  4. Click Add and then click Save.

Delete a profile question

When you delete a profile question, you're simply removing it from the list of possible questions that you can ask during the review process, but it doesn't delete the question from the default profile question library. However, if you create a custom profile question, it will be deleted permanently.

  1. Find the question you want to remove or delete.

  2. Click the X, and then click the Delete button.

  3. Click Save.
