Best Practices for Adhering to Limits

Question Limit

  • Focus on the most impactful questions to guide customers effectively. A balance between data collection and questions that inform the recommendations is advisable but too many questions can lead to quiz drop-offs.

Weighted Products Limit

  • Prioritize products most relevant to the quiz's goal. A quiz does not necessarily have to include all products from your catalogue. For example, it could be focused on a specific category or target products that you feel need to be promoted.

Tag Limit

  • Avoid redundant or overly broad tags that could dilute recommendation accuracy.

  • If using Points logic with Product Tags, periodically audit your tags to ensure they align with your product catalog.

Recommended Products per Page Limit

  • Highlight top-performing products within the limit, 3-5 products is optimal. Too many products on a page can overwhelm users and make the recommendations seem less specific or accurate.

Recommended Pages Limit

  • Consolidate pages as much as possible by using exclusion logic:

    • Consider relaxing conditions for product recommendations if appropriate by including more products on one page with the same conditions.

    • If there are multiple pages that mostly the same conditions but only a single different condition, they can often be combined under one page. An exclusion condition can be used to exclude products in specific scenarios to replicate different pages.

Additional Recommended Products Limit

  • Select only additional products that may add value to the customer’s primary recommendations.

  • Monitor performance to ensure additional products contribute positively to conversion rates.
