How enrolled members access the extension
What rewards are accessible through the extension
Adding the Loyalty Checkout UI Extension
Before you install the Loyalty Checkout UI Extension, you must be in the process of migrating or have already migrated, from checkout.liquid to checkout extensibility. Refer to this document on how to perform this task.
To install the Loyalty Checkout UI Extension:
Go to Shopify Admin > Sales Channels > Online Store.
Select Themes and then select Customize against the desired theme.
3. At the top of the page, change the template to Checkout.
4. Select Add app block.
5. Add the Okendo Loyalty block to the checkout.
6. The extension is added to a predetermined section of the checkout - in this case the Order Summary section (note - this cannot be changed). You can also select the checkbox Include app block in Shop Pay, if you would like the app block to appear in Shop Pay. The extension is removed by selecting Remove app block.
7. Select Save and exit the theme customizer.
Rewards accessible through the checkout UI extension
To see the checkout UI extension, enrolled members must be logged into their store account. Therefore members must meet two criteria to see the extension:
They have already opted-in to your loyalty program; and
They have logged into their store account, prior to or at checkout.
Once they are logged in, enrolled members can redeem rewards at checkout or use an existing reward against their order.
Redeeming rewards at checkout
For rewards redeemed at checkout, the checkout UI extension will only show redemptions, that meet the following criteria:
Active redemption rules only
In instances where the Convert Your Points reward has been enabled, Okendo Loyalty will display rewards options:
That require fewer points than the member's current balance
That are up to and slightly above the order value
Where the minimum purchase amount is met by the order value (eg a reward that requires a minimum spend of $40 will not show against an order totalling $25, but will appear against an order with a total of $60)
This logic is designed to ensure that only the most relevant rewards (relative to the order) are shown to the enrolled member. This logic does not consider any collection restrictions.
Rewards redeemed at checkout will be automatically applied to the order.
Using existing rewards at checkout
For rewards previously redeemed, these will be displayed in the checkout UI extension, provided they:
Have not been used
Have not expired; or
Have been revoked by the merchant
The enrolled member can select the desired reward and apply it against their order.
