By placing key information and call to actions within the customer accounts experience, Loyalty harnesses the capabilities of Shopify customer accounts to drive higher program engagement.

Customer account extensions are available to merchants on all Shopify plans (except Starter plan) and all Okendo plans.

This article discusses extensions in the context of customer accounts. If you would like to customize legacy (classic) accounts, please speak to our support teams on how to use customer metafields, to do this.
Available Extensions
Points Banner
Pending (non-enrolled) and Enrolled member states
This banner displays a member's current points balance.
This banner will display to both enrolled and non-enrolled members.
Merchants can link this extension to the Rewards Page, if that extension is installed as well.
This extension can be placed on the Profile and Orders sections of customer accounts.
Tier Banner
Pending (non-enrolled) member state
The Tier Banner does not show to Pending (non-enrolled) member's.
Enrolled member state
This banner displays the spend required to upgrade to the next tier and the tier upgrade window end date ("Spend $325 by November 21, 2024, to upgrade to Gold status")
For programs with a rolling 12 month tier eligibility period, the spend required to upgrade to the next tier AND the tier upgrade window end date will change over time, as purchases enter and exit the rolling 12 month spend window.
The spend required is the difference between the spend required to reach the next tier and the member's actual rolling 12 month spend, as of today.
The tier upgrade window end date is the date of the oldest, valid purchase (still within the rolling 12 month spend window, as of today) plus 12 months.
If the member is on the highest tier already, then they will receive a message stating this.
This extension can be placed on the Profile and Orders sections of customer accounts.
Rewards Page (full page extension)
Pending (non-enrolled) member state
Pending members are shown a call to action, to enrol.
Enrolled member state
The Rewards Page is a full page extension within customer accounts.
This extension includes the following information:
Section | Description |
Your Rewards > | Displays separate modules for points balance, tier and next reward. |
Your Rewards > | Displays module that shows transactions and adjustments that added and subtracted points from the member's points balance. |
Your Rewards > Your Balance | Displays the current reward currency (usually points) balance of the member (including adjustments and points expired as well). |
Your Rewards > Your Tier (when tiers are enabled) | The current VIP tier of the enrolled member. |
Your Rewards > Next Reward | Displays the points required to claim the next available reward (based on the member's current points balance). This module is designed to motivate members to make additional purchases. This module will only show if the member cannot redeem any rewards.

Your Coupons | Displays a member's unused coupons and their expiry date. This section will not show coupons that have been used, refunded or expired. |
Earn Points | Displays all active earn rules (with appropriate call to actions) available to the member. |
Redeem Rewards | Displays all active reward redemptions (with appropriate call to actions) available to the member. |
Move Up Tiers (where enabled) | Displays all loyalty tiers and the benefits and perks included within each. Also highlights which VIP tier the member is on. |
You Achievements (where enabled) | Displays achievements enabled for the loyalty program. Splits achievements into those earned and those yet to be earned. |
Adding Loyalty customer account extensions
To add Loyalty customer account extensions, follow these steps:
Navigate to Shopify Admin and then in the left hand panel select Sales Channels and select Online Store.
Select Customize against your store theme.
3. In the menu at the top of the page, select Checkout and customer account.
4. Select the Apps icon in the left hand pane and then All. You should see the extensions called Okendo Tier Banner, Okendo Points Banner and Okendo Rewards Page.
5. Select the plus symbol and then select the section in customer accounts. Repeat this process for each extension required. Note that each extension has pre-defined sections and can be added to the same section more than once.
⚠️ NOTE
If you are adding the Rewards Page for the first time, Okendo will ask you to add the Rewards Page to the navigation menu within customer accounts. Simply follow the prompts to complete this task.
For the Points Banner and Tier Banner, you may optionally link to the Rewards Page (if you installed this already).
7. Select Save and exit the Shopify theme customizer.
Removing Loyalty customer account extensions
To remove the Loyalty customer account extensions:
Navigate to Shopify Admin and then in the left hand panel select Sales Channels and select Online Store.
Select Customize against your store theme.
In the menu at the top of the page, select Checkout and customer account.
Go back to the same menu and select the appropriate section:
To access the Okendo Points Banner extension, select Orders.
To access the Okendo Tier Banner extension, select Profile.
To access the Rewards Page full page extension, select the Rewards Page.
5. Select Sections and then the extension on the left hand side. In the screenshot below, the Okendo Tier Banner is selected.
6. Select the ellipsis next to the extension name and then Remove. This will remove the extension from the section. Repeat this process for all extensions you wish to remove.
7. Select Save and exit the Shopify theme customizer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Loyalty customer account extensions be styled?
Loyalty customer account extensions inherit styles from the checkout and customer accounts theme. Outside of this, they cannot be individually styled in Okendo Loyalty.
Can Loyalty customer account extensions be moved to other sections?
Default sections for each Loyalty customer account extensions are encoded within the extensions themselves. However, merchants can move extensions to other locations, within the default section, if they wish to do so.
The 'Refer a Friend' earn rule on the Rewards Page does not include a call to action button. Will it?
Yes. We are reviewing how we can initiative referrals from customer accounts, as a future improvement.
Can sections (e.g. 'Earn Points') be hidden in the Rewards Page?
You can hide the following sections, if the following conditions are met:
Earn Points and Redeem Rewards: Earn and Redemption Rules are deactivated and/or are unavailable to a VIP Tier.
Move Up Tiers: VIP Tiers are not enabled in the program.
Achievements: Achievements are not enabled in the program.
