Reviews are a critical part of the customer buying journey and significantly impact key e-commerce metrics.

To help you understand the performance of your reviews, Okendo's integration with Google Analytics provides insights into how your customers engage with the Reviews widgets and how that engagement directly impacts conversion rate, revenue, and average order value on your store.

❗️Google Analytics integration requires the Widget Plus reviews widget. Please contact customer support for help migrating to Widget Plus. Learn more about Widget Plus.

💡 The Google Analytics integration currently works with the following products: Reviews.

In this article, you will learn about;

Mapping Google Analytics in Shopify

⚠️ Skip this section if you have previously connected Google Analytics to your Shopify account via other methods.

Go to the Shopify Admin > Google & YouTube under the Sales channels heading.

Check to see that a Google Analytics 4 property is connected in the store.

⚠️ If the heading states Your Google Analytics property, then a property is already connected. You can now Enable Reviews Widget tracking.

If there is no property connected, select a property from the dropdown and select Connect.

⚠️ If a Google Account is not yet connected to the Shopify store, follow these steps here.

Enabling Reviews widget tracking in your admin panel

Go to your admin panel Settings > Widgets > General

Select Google Tag (gtag.js - Recommend Shopify Default).

Click Save.

⚠️ If you use Google Tag Manager, refer to this help article to complete a few extra steps.

Turning the Google Analytics integration on

Go to Google Analytics in the Insights section of the Integrations screen of the admin panel Settings > Integrations.

Select Sign in with Google and log in with your Google account.

⚠️ The Google account you use must have either "Editor" or "Administration" level permission within Google Analytics.

Select the properties you wish to sync data from in the list and click Save.

Checking data population in Okendo

⚠️ Data may take up to 72 hours to sync from Google Analytics to Okendo. If your reports have not been updated after 72 hours, please recheck your permission level and re-login. Google explains user roles more in-depth here.

In the admin panel to your Google Analytics Dashboard Reviews > Insights > Google Analytics.

Select a GA property and configure the data range as required to view your data.
