Checkout is where shoppers are most ready to commit. The Membership upsell lets you offer your Membership inside Shopify checkout, and when your Membership tier includes a Loyalty Discount, non-members see exactly how much they'd save on their current order by joining. When they add the Membership, the discount applies to their order straight away.

How savings are calculated
The Membership upsell works out the saving from the items in the shopper's cart, using your Membership tier's Loyalty Discount. For example, if your Membership includes 10% off and the shopper's eligible items total $150, the upsell shows a $15 saving on this order.
Only items that qualify for the discount count toward the saving:
Products and collections you've included or excluded in your Loyalty Discount.
Sale items can be skipped automatically when their compare-at price is higher than the current price.
💡 Your Membership's other benefits, such as points multipliers, cashback and store credit, still appear in the perks list. The savings amount reflects the Loyalty Discount only.
Adding the Membership upsell to your checkout
In your Shopify admin, go to Edit Theme > Customer Account & Checkout > Checkout.
Select Add block and choose Checkout Membership Upsell under Okendo.
Drag the block to where you want it in checkout.
Select Save.
💡 Place the upsell in the order summary so shoppers see the saving next to their total.
What shoppers see
Shoppers who aren't members see your Membership offer, its price and benefits, and the amount they'd save on this order, for example "You could save $15.00 on this order as a member!" When they add the Membership, the discount applies to their eligible items straight away.
Existing members see their Membership benefits without a join button.
If your Membership tier has no Loyalty Discount, shoppers see your Membership offer and benefits without a savings amount.
FAQs
Q: Why isn't the savings amount showing?
A: Check that your Membership tier has an active Okendo Loyalty Discount in Shopify Discounts. The amount is also hidden when none of the items in the cart qualify for the discount.
Q: Why is the saving lower than I expected?
A: The saving only counts eligible items. Products or collections excluded from your Okendo Loyalty Discount, and items already on sale, aren't included.
Q: Does the Membership discount combine with other discounts?
A: The Okendo Loyalty Discount is an automatic discount and follows Shopify's standard combination rules. See How to configure and use discount combinations.
Q: Do points, cashback or store credit count toward the savings amount?
A: No. The savings amount reflects your Okendo Loyalty Discount only. Your other Membership benefits are still listed in the upsell.
