Promotions enable you to boost member engagement, by allowing you to offer extra points on points-earning rules. for a select period of time (for example Black Friday/Cyber Monday)

To locate promotion, follow these steps:
Navigate to Okendo Admin > Loyalty > Promotions
You can view three tabs:
Live Now: This tab shows any promotions currently running in your loyalty program
Upcoming: Shows any promotions scheduled for an upcoming date/time or in draft
Complete: This tab shows past promotions
Setting up a promotion
To set up a promotion, follow these steps:
Select + New Promotion to add a new promotion. Note the widget preview, to view how promotions will appear in your floating widget.
3. Complete the fields in the form:
Give the promotion a name. This will appear in the floating widget.
Select an option from the Promotion is Active drop down menu. A date field will appear to choose the period when the promotion commences and/or ends:
Until End Date: Selecting this option will launch the promotion immediately. The promotion will run until the end date/time
Between Dates: Selecting this option will schedule the promotion to run between the start date/time and conclude on the end date/time
Until Stopped: Selecting this option will launch the promotion on the start date/time and will continue indefinitely, until the promotion is manually closed by you
Draft: Selecting this option will save the the promotion configuration, without setting any dates or times
⚠️ Dates and times are based on the merchant, not the customer. Please take this into consideration when setting these.
Against Apply to Earning Rules, select which points-earning rules to include in the promotion. You can select more than one points-earning rule
Against Promotion Type, select how bonus points are earned:
Fixed Points Bonus: Adds a fixed amount of bonus points, on top of points earned by members, from the earning rule
Point Multiplier: Bonus points are earned, as a result of multiplying the customer's base points by a multiplier, determined by you
⚠️ Points multiplier takes into consideration any points variations as a result of the members tier. For example, if the base tier points for placing an order is 1 point per dollar spent, but a Gold tier member earns 2 points per dollar spent, then under a 2x points multiplier promotion, they will earn 4 points per dollar spent (2 points per dollar spent x 2x promotion multiplier).
Select which tiers the promotion will apply to, under Eligible Tiers
Add a custom description under Description. This will appear in the floating widget
4. Select Add to enable the promotion. You will receive different confirmation messages, depending on the option selected under Promotion is Active. Confirm to launch or schedule. Otherwise the promotion can be saved in draft format for later

5. The promotion will appear under the respective tab, after it is added
Manually ending a promotion
You can manually end a promotion at any time, through the following steps:
Go to Okendo Admin > Loyalty > Promotions and select the Live Now tab
Locate and open the active promotion
3. Select End Now, at the bottom of the screen
4. Confirm you wish to end the promotion by selecting End Promotion Now
5. The promotion can now be found under the Complete tab
The member experience
Members can view active promotions in the floating widget (where enabled).
Selecting the Earn Points call to action takes members to this panel in the widget
Note how the points-earning rule included in the promotion, now contains a small icon, indicating whether the promotion is a points multiplier or a fixed bonus points type (eg "x2" to indicate the rule is under promotion with double points multiplier or "+100" to indicate the rule is under a promotion for 100 fixed bonus points).
Members can also view active promotions relevant to them and any points-earning rules that are augmented by promotions, in the loyalty page (with the 'boosted' points values, relevant to the viewing member also appearing).
Transactions, including bonus points from promotions, appear in Point History within the floating widget...

Bonus points from promotions are also reported separately on Loyalty Points Earned emails.

In addition to promotion setup and management, points from promotions will appear in aggregate, in member activity..

FAQs
Can non-members earn extra points within a promotional period?
Yes, they can. For example, if a non-member places an order during a double points promotion period (on orders), they will get twice the amount of points they would normally receive. However, as with any points earned by non-members, they will only be able to use these, once they become an enrolled member.
Can I run more than one promotion at a time?
You can have more than one promotion running, provided they do not impact the same points-earning rule for the same VIP tier, at the same time (eg it is not possible to run two promotions for Follow on Instagram earn rule, applicable to Gold tier members, simultaneously). If you do so, you will encounter the follow error:
To resolve this issue, please adjust your promotion settings, so that promotions don't include overlapping points-earning rules and VIP tiers, across the same period of time.
What is the impact of 'Place an order' points delays on promotions?
If a delay period is implemented on the 'Place an order' earn rule, members will have to wait, before being awarded these points. At the conclusion of this period, they will be awarded base points and any bonus points from promotions applicable at the time the order was incurred.
Can I change a promotion (or their underlying earn rules), when they are live?
Yes, however this will only impact transactions, subject to that promotion or earn rule, after the change (and not points previously awarded by that promotion or earn rules).
Will promotions apply to orders captured in Shopify POS?
Yes, provided they are recorded against the customer (ie a customer's profile, with a valid email address, is logged against the order). Having said this, there have been no updates to include promotions within the Okendo Loyalty POS extension.
What if a points-earning rule and promotions conflict in their setup? (eg points-earning rule does not apply to a tier, but a promotion including that rules does apply to the tier)
In this instance, the points-earning rule wins. It is important to check that tiers selected on the points-earning rule and the promotion are consistent.
Can completed promotions, be reactivated?
