Loyalty Page Plus gives you more ways than ever to showcase your Loyalty program and convert customers into repeat buyers. With theme templates, flexible modules, and richer styling options, you can now design an on-brand landing page that not only looks great, but drives enrolments, engages customers and creates higher lifetime value, right out of the box!

To take advantage of these new capabilities, merchants with an existing Okendo Loyalty landing page will need to migrate to Loyalty Page Plus.

In this article, you’ll learn about:

  • Things to consider before migration.

  • The steps in the migration process and how to perform each

Things to consider before migration

There are a number of things you should consider before migrating, to minimize disruptions to your loyalty program.

Planning your migration

  • Who built your landing page? If you built your current landing page yourself - good news! You can follow this guide to migrate your existing landing page to Loyalty Page Plus. If Okendo built your landing page previously, please contact our support team, to discuss your options.

  • Timing of migration: The migration process involves rebuilding your landing page in a duplicate of your current theme. This is necessary to ensure the new landing page can be tested prior to launch, while members can still access your loyalty program, via the existing landing page. Because of this, we recommend scheduling the migration at a time when no other storefront changes or live campaigns/promotions are scheduled, as these won’t necessarily carry over to your duplicate theme.

  • Capturing current landing page setup: Capture screenshots, modules enabled (Loyalty > On-Site Displays > Loyalty Page > Modules) and style settings (Loyalty > On-Site Displays > Loyalty Page > Style) of your existing landing page, before commencing the migration. This will ensure that your new landing page stays on brand and will act as a help reference point, when comparing landing page designs.

Design and content considerations

  • Refresh your landing page: With more modules, designs and style settings available, you may take this opportunity to refresh your landing page design as part of the migration process (especially if you built your landing page previously).

  • Reward modules or components in use: Note which Loyalty modules (e.g., points balance, VIP tiers, ways to earn) appear on your page so you can include the same functionality in the new version.

⚠️ If you have an existing landing page, Loyalty Page Plus will port over existing style and module settings into your new landing page. However, given the design and configuration improvements in Loyalty Page Plus, we recommend you review the look and feel of your new landing page and make further adjustments, where necessary.

  • Custom styling: If you have any custom styling added to your existing landing page, you will need to review each element and where necessary, copy and modify these in your new landing page. If Okendo customized your landing page previously, please contact our support team, to discuss your options.

  • Custom code or developer modifications: Any Liquid, JavaScript, or HTML customizations won’t transfer automatically. You will need to review them and where necessary, copy and modify these in your new landing page. If Okendo customized your landing page previously, please contact our support team, to discuss your options.

⚠️ While the new builder offers more flexibility, some custom-coded features may not exist natively. Please contact our support team, to discuss your options.

Technical setup

❗️ If you enable the Okendo Loyalty Plus app embed in your current theme, your may unintentionally launch your new landing page, before you've had a chance to customize it.

  • Analytics and tracking: You will need to re-add any tracking pixels, analytics tags, or scripts that were used on your original page.

Before publishing

  • Preview before publishing: Always preview your duplicate theme to confirm that modules display correctly, links work, and your page layout looks as expected.

The Migration Process

The migration process involves 4 steps:

  1. Duplicate your current theme.

  2. Enable Okendo Loyalty Plus app embed in the duplicate theme.

  3. Rebuild the landing page in Loyalty Page Plus and test in your duplicate theme.

  4. Publish the duplicate theme over your current theme.

Duplicate your current theme

To duplicate your current theme, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Shopify Admin > Sales channels > Online Store > Themes and then select the ellipsis icon ( ) against your current theme, for more options.

  2. Select Duplicate, to duplicate your current theme.

You should now see your duplicate theme (usually named "Copy of <store name>"). We recommend renaming your duplicate theme to include a date to distinguish between themes (either the date duplicated or the target publish date).

Enable Okendo Loyalty Plus app embed in the duplicate theme

To enable the Okendo Loyalty Plus app embed:

  1. Go to Shopify Admin > Sales channels > Online Store > Themes and select Customize against your duplicate theme.

2. Select the App embeds icon ( ) and then toggle on Okendo Loyalty Plus.

Rebuild the landing page in Loyalty Page Plus and test in your duplicate theme

Follow these steps to rebuild your landing page, in Loyalty Page Plus. Consult the Loyalty Page Plus - Module and Styling Reference Guide for more information.

⚠️ As mentioned previously, if you have an existing landing page, Loyalty Page Plus will port over existing style and module settings to fast-track the rebuild process. We recommend that you review ported settings and make any adjustments you see fit.

To preview and test your duplicate theme:

  1. Go to Shopify Admin > Sales channels > Online Store > Themes and then select the ellipsis icon ( ) against your duplicate theme, for more options.

  2. Select Preview. This allows you to see how your new landing page looks and test functions, before publishing it.

Publish the duplicate theme over your current theme

Once you are ready to go live, simply publish the duplicate theme over the top of your current theme:

  1. Go to Shopify Admin > Sales channels > Online Store > Themes.

  2. Select Publish against your duplicate theme.

3. Confirm you wish to publish your existing theme over your current theme.

That's it! Your duplicate theme and new landing page are now live.
